Mommy's little pumpkins

Haunt the Zoo 2008

Trav and I took the girls to Haunt the Zoo, it's been a tradition for 3 years running! (To Trav and I that is a record for us) We had a blast, the weather was not to cold so it made it perfect for the girls wearing their costumes. Avayah was Cinderella & Adalynne was Tinkerbell! Of course we think they were the cutest ever!

Adalynne had fun just making the cutest noises at people until she pooped out after about 1/2 way and snoozed until she was awakened by Trav trying to remove her tutu, so she could fit in the carseat!

Avayah had a blast...she was working her Cinderella get-up to the fullest. She got tons of compliments and extra candy a few times for how adorable she looked. Vay was totally wierded out by some of the older scarier costumes! We even got to see some of our friends there-Erica & Madison. Of course Avayah took advantage of her not being stoller bound, and spent most of the time trying to run away or ahead of us! Little Miss Independent!

Here are the pics...

Carving Pumpkins

So this year thanks to our friend Chasity....we took carving our pumpkins pretty serious! Avayah was so excited to work on the pumpkins, but when Trav cut it open and asked her to get the seeds out...She was like WHAT!? No Dad, I'll get my hands dirty, you get the seeds out and I'll stir them up in the bowl! K?

So while Trav and I are trying to act like professional pumpkin carvers, Vay is flicking pumpkin seeds out of the bowl all over the floor--of course w/a spoon because diva can't get her hands messy!!

It was fun, they turned out better than expected, but they are going on day 2 of post-carved and are already rotting on my front porch! UGH! So hopefully they will make it a couple of more days.
Here are some pics of our success..

Cinderella Ballerina Princess

This week at Dance Vay's class got to dress up in their Halloween attire, I guess we were really the only ones that took it serious! =) One other girl did dress up as Minnie...so it worked out okay. Vay looks like a giant compared to everyone in the pictures...

Daddy and his girls!

Trav & the twinkies right before we went to feed the ducks & play at the park!!!

Trav couldn't be more proud that Vay loves to wear a baseball cap!

Trav and I on our first date night in 3 months!

Sleeping Beauties-I thought this was too cute! I can't believe how much my girls look like their daddy!

Funny faces....Chalk Talk....Daddy's Princess

So if you don't know already we are a little crazy sometimes...but it sure does make things fun! Here are some pics of us playing around while little Miss Adalynne was sleeping!

We were all outside playing chalk and Vay likes for us to draw everyone...so Trav and I were drawing and we got a little carried away! Here are some of the funny pictures....(of course Mommy has the halo & Daddy has the horns)

Daddy's Little Princess--Avayah is going to be Cinderella for Halloween this year...so since Daddy was home we had to try it all on! She LOVED it...she kept asking when her wedding was!

Chocolate Mess & play time w/ Maddy

This is what happens when you leave Avayah alone w/chocolate pudding. It was everywhere!! I left her alone w/the pudding for about 5 minutes while I tried to lay Addy down for the evening. When I came around the corner and gasped, Vay said, "What?" She is so silly & outspoken!

Here are a few pics of Vay playing with her new friend Madison. They went cruising in her Barbie Jeep, played on the trampoline, colored w/chalk, and made a mess in the sand! They had so much fun!!!

I can do it.....and the bumbo

A couple of days ago Vay was trying to open the box of capri-suns and in all her efforts it wasn't opening. So after about the 3rd attempt she started giving herself a pep talk. As she is fiercely trying to open the box she is saying, "You can do it, You can do it Avayah." I instantly bust up laughing. On occasion like when I'm trying to open the ridiculous apple juice or a random jar I sometimes think out loud (you can do it Sarah)...it's funny the things your kids pay attention to. =)

Here is a pic of Adalynne mastering her Bumbo chair! She was pretty content hanging out on the counter while mommy cleaned the kitchen!

Desoto Caverns

Here is a slideshow of our trip to the Desoto Caverns....

We're BACK!!!

We got back from Alabama this past Monday. It's completely amazing how fast a week goes by. And yes I survived traveling on an airplane 4 times with a 3 month old and a 2 1/2 year old; Thank goodness for strollers! I won't lie a few times...like for instance when I'm trying to convince Avayah we have to turn off the electonic (dvd player--thanks Melissa!) because we are descending and she has a complete MELTDOWN--I thought while the entire plane is laughing "WHAT WAS I THINKING!" It was so worth my kids getting to see their grandparents and we would do it again for the record! =)

BTW my in-laws live in Birmingham. The scenery there is breathtaking. I'm so glad that they got to live somewhere that looks like Colorado! =)

Of course we had a BLAST! It was so nice to be able to relax with some help and catch up with Steve, Mel, and Tay! We shopped, ate tons of great meals!--thanks Melanie I think I tipped the scale about 10 heavier coming home! We ventured to Desoto Caverns--what a creepy fun place to go! We got to see where Tay goes to school and meet some of Steve's coworkers.

Now if I only could have packed them in my suitcase and take them back to Oklahoma it would have been the perfect trip! WE MISS YOU ALL!!! Thank you so much for sharing your time with us..memories like this last a lifetime!

Here are a few photos w/some highlights and a slideshow...
Adalynne during out first flight...she did sooooo great!

On Avayah's adventures around the house she got to help her PawPaw fill the bird feeder! She's pouting because they were all done & she wants to live outside! =)
Avayah got to go to the park about everyday with PawPaw, Gramma, and Tay. She even got to fish with PawPaw too! I'm pretty sure in this picture is where he told her that there was an alligator in the water and to not get to close to the edge--*sidenote* if you know my Vay..she is not afraid of large bodies of water and would just walk out in the middle of it w/no fear! The look on her face says it all! =)

One of my favorite pictures....What ladies!
